PANTONE™ Collaboration - Sr Art Director

Pantone don’t mess around when it comes to Color Of The Year. Leading this collaboration with Pantone & butter LONDON took a lot of planning, team management, thoughtful design, and great communication with all the relevant departments at Pantone and within butter. I Art Directed and lead the Color Of The Year project 2 years running, with great sales results, despite that green.

Guess who doesn’t tell you what the Color Of The Year will be until the very last second? PANTONE! You wait and wait, and then all of a sudden, you have to scramble. Colours must be matched, graphics have to be designed, packaging has to be produced, marketing assets need to be created, and nothing can be considered approved until Pantone have signed off. With so little time to meet deadlines, you have to be ON IT. While the Product Development team worked on colour matching, I was busy designing everything else.

Then I ‘plucked’ some sprigs from our pattern, and Pantone gave it the thumbs up. Now we could produce the packaging and digital media for the collaboration.
